Vibrant, patterned, eclectic. These are all words to describe the Bohemian Style. Taking cues from the Islamic Style, Boho interiors feature a blend of patterns, and textures.
Furniture in this style tends to be lower to the ground (or on the ground). Sometimes, pillows will be used in lieu of a chair all together, and bed frames are probably not necessary. I know, this might sound a little like a college student's apartment, but it can actually be quite inviting and very stylish.
If the Boho style is your thing, below are a few key features to the style to incorporate into your own decor.
Choose pattern. In the Boho style, it is okay to have a patterned rug, painted tile, and a patterned blanket all in one setting. They should complement each other, but they definitely don't have to be the same. This style is fun because it allows you to be bold with colors and patterns in a way that most other home decor styles don't. There are no rules here! Have fun!
This style embraces natural elements, such as wood and plants. Often times lanterns and lighting fixtures will be swagged - that is hung from a chain at more than one point - haphazardly across a room or table. This hap-hazard style is echoed by using potted plants that appear to overflow from their pots.
That's not to say that this style cannot appeal to those who love clean design. This style is as unique as you are! Check out our Bohemian Home Pinterest board to see just how diverse this style can be!
